For qualifying sites of exceptional design and layout that are content rich and pleasing to the eye. Must make good use of graphics, , style, HTML, technology and show originality. Graphics should be original or give credit to source. Navigation of the site must be easy to maneuver and understand. A consistent theme and color scheme are a necessity. Please do not apply if your site is overloaded with unnecessary animated gifs or contrasting graphics. This award is for well presented sites of character with class.

ELITE ART AWARD:

For high quality art related sites that maintain design integrity.
Visual appeal is the essence of art and at the heart of this award. These sites should showcase artwork professionally and with style. A consistently flowing theme and color scheme are a necessity to enhance the artwork showcased. This award will focus more on presentation, content and originality but won't overlook the importance of a strong layout with accurate html. Art includes: computer graphics, photography, painting, sculpting using various mediums for expression, etc...

Most winning applicants for the Design & Art awards will earn the Artist's Choice 'Seal of Approval ', to honor the superior sites that do not (100%) meet the qualifications for the 'Elite' award but are similar in overall quality. This is an award of high achievement, comparable to a 2nd place result (worth 0.5 points towards AS/Hall points). Winners may apply for an upgrade in 2004.
